I was born in raised in St. Louis, Missouri and am an author/creative artist, entrepreneur, and proud founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Georgia. God has blessed me with many wonderful gifts which I share for the purpose of inspiring others to live their best lives. I invite you to read below to find out more about me.

I have been writing poetry since the age of 10, and speaking/performing since the age of 18. My writing portfolio includes poetry, novels, essays, plays, and children’s stories – a total of 100 works to date. As it pertains to my speaking repertoire, I have given a total of sixty-one (61) speeches/performances.  When creating a literary work or presenting a performance speech, my desire is to educate, entertain, motivate, and empower the audience. My live performances, which are creative medleys of speech, poetry, song, and movement, include:Opened for Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee (Otelia Cromwell Day, Smith College); Media One Talent Showcase; The Department of Justice Martin Luther King Day Celebration; National Black Arts Festival; Uptown Comedy CornerSweet Auburn Festival; Culture Center; Patti Hut; Have a Heart Benefit; Harlem Renaissance (Amherst College); Black History Celebration Event (Southern Polytechnic State University); Images of Sound (Augustus Savage Art Gallery at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst). In addition to writing and delivering performance speeches, I am also an experienced actress (comedic and dramatic) of both stage and film. While writing, speaking/performing, and acting are my primary artistic endeavors, my talents also include singing, doll-making, drawing, cooking, and dancing. Finally, I am the recipient of the 1990 National Council for Black Studies National Creative Writing Competition award (third place). I am 48 years-old.

McCloud9 Enterprises, LLC (www.gwenmccloud.com), a Georgia-based company, was founded in 2009. The company specializes in real estate investing (www.webuyhomesga.com), business funding (www.bbfus.com) recruiting (www.gwenrecruits.com), and virtual assistant services (www.vagconsult.com).

A Pathway to Hope and Home, Inc., a 501(c)(3) entity based in Georgia. I founded it for the purpose of leaving a legacy of giving back and helping those who are less fortunate achieve a better life. Detailed below are the mission statement, vision statement, and purpose of my organization. Our website is www.1hope1home.org.

Mission Statement

To provide affordable homeownership opportunities, free cars, and outreach resources for deserving families and individuals for the purpose of improving their quality of life, building their net worth, and creating more entrepreneurs.

Vision Statement

To create a society where families and individuals who are underserved, marginalized, and/or affected by poverty, become proud homeowners and entrepreneurs who create jobs not only in their respective community/state, but nationwide and around the world.

Purpose

A Pathway to Hope and Home, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and shall operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

A Pathway to Hope and Home, Inc.’s purpose is to provide affordable and/or free homeownership opportunities, free vehicles (cars, vans, trucks, and/or other forms of transportation – new and/or used), group home shelters and/or foster care homes/assisted living establishments/housing for veterans, men, women, children, seniors, and the homeless/housing for men, women, teenagers, and/or children in transition from the penal system/housing for the disabled/differently abled and mentally challenged, scholarships, and various outreach services (economic empowerment, training and/or job creation, clothing/food/water, energy, education, housing, healthcare, resource centers, counseling) to deserving families and individuals, state-wide, nationally and internationally, for the purpose of improving their quality of life, building net worth, and creating more entrepreneurs, regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation. Various initiatives, including fundraising events, will be implemented to raise funds for these efforts. Our programs will also include assigning ambassadors the task of raising social consciousness about our cause(s) on a local/statewide, national, and global level.

To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other non-profit organizations which fall under the 501(c)(3) section of the Internal Revenue Code and are operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
